Mixed Feelings

It's been a busy, mellow, stressful, exciting, productive, lazy, hyper weeks in Jakarta. One day I'll be a busy bumble bee working and tomorrow is a slow sunny afternoon sipping ice tea doing tik-tok on with my laptop, 95% is work related. My everyday is always a mixed of things and feelings. Still, gastronomy is on the top of my list.

Here's an edition of a mix of everything:

If you're craving for a great Wagyu steak, Y Grill got it under their belt. Everything about Y Grill : interior design, presentation, and taste are wrapped in modern innovation. On our last visit, we enjoyed their steak which were uniquely presented on top of hot stone. This time around, we're in for the Teppanyaki treat and from the top to bottom - it's an art of Japanese cooking.

fresh salad

oxtail ravioli soup

dipped 'em into the ponzu sauce

wagyu goodness with perfectly crisp garlic and potato chips

green tea ice cream. I can't decide which one to choose so I end up with both flavors. two much? ;)

Table8 - Savor The Dynasty

Pretty Flower Tea.
the tea master will bring long-nosed kettle and pours boiling water in mesmerizing acrobatic movements. the little herb bundle transformed to the pretty jasmine flower.

When I walked in, I was simply amused. Chinese dynasty interior, Pagodas embellishments, breathtaking chandeliers, and the large oriental paintings on the ceiling - talking 'bout top-notch decor. You don't come across many fine dining which offers Chinese cuisine, Table8 surely knows how to deliver regal presentation and flavor: focusing on Cantonese and Sichuanese dishes. Taste wise, dishes turned out to be delish, but as I expected, Table8 doesn't completely satisfy the authenticity point of view.
Peking Duck Appetizer
Pan-fried Beef Steak with Red Wine and Black Pepper Sauce

Steamed Live Scallop with Enoki Mushroom and Black Bean Sauce

Stir-fried Minced Roasted Duck Meat with Lettuce

Steamed Chilean Sea Bass Fillet with Cumin Flavor Szechuan
