Bottega Louie - The Heart of Downtown

I was so excited to try what everyone has been buzzing about one of downtown finest, Bottega Louie. The hustle of this place reminds me of the Sopranos, American-Italian New Yorker down to business. All the pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and cold food to-go are right at front for ease and convenience. and I really like the decor of elegant white cleanse and uber high ceilings.

As I walk in, I immediately drool over those rainbow macaroons in neat row calling my name "rescue me!!"
And of course a massive desserts galore of cupcake, tarts, eclair, muffin, et cetera...

"I'm a sexy tart. what are you waiting for?"I bet the desserts are delicate and filling, however the brunch has failed to impress me. To say the least BL don't have the variety nor novelty on the brunch menu. The taste and quality just okay and I can't say I liked it.

Bagels, smoked salmon, cream cheese, sliced tomatoes, dill, capers & red onion.

Usual eggs benedict :poached eggs, Canadian bacon, spinach, English muffin & hollandaise sauce
French toast: brioche & maple syrup

Lemon ricotta pancakes served with house made blueberry syrup. Although I've had better, this will be my favorite among them all.
The complimentary warm bread and butter was a treat though, and we asked for more. and more.

Hopefully Bottega Louie won't let me down next time for a round of dinner or lunch. I'm not giving up on you yet!

26 Beach - Life's a Beach

Perfect Saturday is strolling around a white sandy beach, barefoot with a large sunshades covering my freckle from the sun. Sweeping those sand off your feet, putting a pair of Havaianas and off to enjoy a good hearty brunch across the beach. with good companies.

*Poof* oh wishful thinking.

Well at least we went to 26 Beach, my favorite brunch place in LA. Their decor is sorta shaby chic tea garden patio. Ladies??
Rajun Cajun is a scrambled egg with cajun sausage, ground beef, onions, spinach, feta cheese & penne pasta. One of the usual savory dish that is so-so. They have pretty good ingredient however *blah* I need to add salt and pepper 'cos it was bland.
On a sweeter note, Monte Cristo - French toast stuffed with ham & swiss cheese & served with maple syrup is an absolute must try. The sweet ham and maple syrup somehow produce lite sweetness and the toast boost the savor out of the flavor.
Red Hot CHILI Pepperzzz – eggs scrambled with penne pasta topped with our homemade chili that has been kicked up 3 notches, Jalapeno, Habanero & Crushed Red Peppers topped with shredded cheddar cheese & chopped. It was H.O.T - my tongue was not quite a fan of it because those spiciness took away the taste of the whole dish.Elvis - French toast stuffed with creamy Skippy’s peanut butter, banana slices & blueberry jam served w/maple syrup on the side. Just okay, but I'll skip next time 'coz me no likey too much peanut.Drum roll please!!!! My personal favorite brunch dish of all time: The Polar Bear - 2 French “croissant” toasts with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, fresh berries, melba sauce & grated white chocolate. YUMMEHH....

I'm pretty much a regular and will always come back for more. The ambiance is cozy, feminine and magical! Life's a beach after all....
